Abigail Lindsay, Editor in Chief

Abigail Lindsay is excited to share the role of editor in chief with Samantha Martin, for her third and final year on the Periscope staff.  At CHS, she is also involved in Oracle as the production editor, Pandora’s Box as the fiction editor, and the softball team as an infielder. Abigail has a love for journalism, Glee, and ice cream.  She is excited to see all the things the staff will accomplish this year!

Billy Flynn, played by senior Timothy Mattaboni, explains to Roxie Hart how she must act in court in order to ensure that she will not be found guilty. Flynn creates a new backstory for each of his clients to ensure the public and judge will not want them to be found guilty.

Senior Skylar Hammaker takes notes, as a reporter, while Roxie Hart explains why she had to kill Fred Casley. This was Hammaker’s first musical, where he played both Fred Casley and a reporter in the ensemble.

Matron “Mama” Morton, played by senior Maria McCoy, sings the solo number ‘When You’re Good To Mama’, explaining how she can help Roxie Hart’s case. This is McCoy’s first year in the musical, as well as her first year in CHS’s Shakespeare Troupe.

Mary Sunshine, played by junior Maya Neiberg, asks questions through song to Roxie Hart about the recent murder of Fred Casley. Neiberg appeared in the ensemble for the musicals Big Fish and Grease.

Flynn explains to Amos Hart, played by junior Zandar Doland, of why he is the best lawyer out there to defend his wife, Hart, in court. Amos Hart was easily a crowd favorite due to his low self-esteem and humbleness, yet continuing to be kind and honest to all.

June, played by sophomore Ellie Knapp, explains how she killed a man by having him run into her knife ten times. Knapp found the choreography to be the most difficult part of being in the musical, however, with the help of our choreographer Bill and our amazing dance captains Rita and Rachel, we were able to learn it all really well. said Knapp.

The “Merry Murderess” ensemble sets the scene for “Cell Block Tango,” one of the most famous songs in the musical. Senior Ashlynn Ashmore was a part of the ensemble, with her favorite part of the musical being, The choreography, it was a dance style that none of us were used to so it was a lot of fun to learn.
