Heidi Heinlein, Perspectives Editor

Heidi Heinlein is currently a sophomore at Carlisle High School. This is her second year as a staff member for Periscope. She is a co-editor of the perspectives section with Kathleen O'Neill. She plays volleyball for the JV team and is also a varsity cheerleader. She is determined to keep distinguished honor roll while still participating in sports, student council, and other school events. In her future she looks forward to following her parents' footsteps by joining the military but also taking her own path by doing something with law or negotiation. Heidi is super excited for the 2018-2019 Periscope staff.

When you think of the word trend, colors do not usually pop up as a first thought. However, the color brown and neutrals in general have become very popular this year. Monochrome or one color, different shade outfits have made many appearances in fashion recently.

Crystals and all things related have risen in popularity in 2021. There are many different options with various meanings that a person can individualize to their needs. They can be made into jewelry, decorations, etc. We even have a cute shop in Carlisle, Gracefull Heart!

Karlin Powell shows off her middle part and curtain bangs, two trendy ways to style your hair. Hair parts have changed from zigzag, side, to middle over the years. 2021 has decided the middle part is the way to go with curtain bangs adding a little extra visual.

Alyssa Dyson shows off her favorite Christmas gift, platform converse. Platform shoes have come back into trend, giving those who wear them a couple inches to add to their height. A little bit of a platform adds spice to any regular shoe.

Jo Ann Fernando shows off multi-colored hair, rings, and layering made up of a collared button up over a sweater. The hair trend all started from COVID quarantine when people passed the time by dying the front strands of their hair any color. Ever since, it has been popular to dye sections of hair instead of it all.

Kathleen ONeill strikes a pose in her layering outfit example. Turtlenecks and long-sleeve shirts have become staple items that get worn over top sweater vests, tank tops, band tees, etc. She is also rocking another popular item, Doc Martens. Style icons such as Emma Chamberlain have inspired these styles.
