Senior Sophia Toti is one of our September Athletes of the Month. Toti is a key member of the currently undefeated girls cross country team.

Sophia Toti is September’s Athlete of the Month. A senior at CHS, Sophia is in her final year of cross country with Carlisle and is looking to have her best season yet. After placing 9th at districts and 14th at states last season, she looks to improve in her final year at Carlisle.

Q1: What personal goals do you have for this season?

A1: This season I want to PR [get a personal record], so get a new best time, and medal at both districts and states and hopefully get a better place than I did last year.

Q2: Coming from a military family, how have your experiences been running at other schools? Are there any surprising aspects?

A2: At my old school, running was not this serious, just because the state wasn’t very competitive, but coming to Pennsylvania the state was much more competitive and we run a lot more.

Q3: How would you describe the team’s chemistry?

A3: The team is very supportive, hardworking, and we all get along.

Q4: What have you done as a team to build chemistry?

A4: We have preseason at the beginning of the year, and we all do team bonding activities, and we run with our groups, so you get closer with the people in your groups which is really nice.

Q5: Do you plan on running competitively in college, and if so how will that affect your college decision process?

A5: Yes, I do plan on running in college, and I want to go somewhere where I like the team atmosphere, I like the coaching style, but where I also like it for the school in case I end up not running.
