The senior book, while full of memories, can also be full of stress.

Seniors at CHS have an assignment called “The Senior Book.” The underclassmen have heard of this project, and all of them have different thoughts. Is this a scary or exciting assessment?

Junior Devin Newman stated, “I get the vibe from my senior friends that the senior book isn’t really that har;, it’s just doing it that bothers them. I’m looking forward to it because it seems like an easy grade.”

Some students think it’s more serious than a simple book as they may be concerned with failing their senior year.

Sophomore Kassidi Junkins said, “I don’t really know what the senior book is, but it seems like a big chunk of our official English grade. Senioritis seems like a real thing, I don’t want to slack as a student and fail 12th grade all because of a book full of memories.”

Students have heard from relatives/friends that have been through the experience of writing their own senior book.

Junior Devante Floyd said, “My cousin Terrence that graduated year 2013 said it was a challenge but it was nice reflecting on the past memories that went on throughout his life. So I guess you could say I’m looking forward to it in ways.”

Others are looking forward to it, as if they’d like to do it every other year or so instead of only senior year.

Junior Briana Berrios said, “Well, I’m excited to do the senior book because it’ll have a basic summary of these years, like all the memories I’ll want to have after high school.”

Senior books can be a hassle to some, but to others, they aren’t just an assignment–they’re a way of saying goodbye to high school.
