Carlisle High School’s long-awaited swimming season is finally here, and many people are excited about it, including the new coach.

Tara Young, CHS swim coach says that her favorite part about coaching the swim team is “being able to see how much they improve from the beginning of the season to the end.”

Meg Tate, a student who has been on the CHS swim team for 2 years, says that

Athletes have already hit the pool and begun training, as their invitational of the season will be held on Saturday, December 10th.

“My main goal is to have both boys and girls to have a winning season,” said Young.

The team holds practice at the YMCA in Carlisle on Mondays through Fridays for extensive training sessions.

The 25-year swim instructor’s philosophy when it comes to training is “quality over quantity” as she would rather have her team do the best yards they possibly can rather than doing them quickly and sloppily.

In the 2015-2016 season, the CHS swim team won a whopping 12 meets, and this year they plan on winning even more.

Coach Young believes that all in all, because of how well practices are going, the team has a good chance at winning many if not all of their meets.
