This year, several spring sports teams had remarkable seasons that put them in the history books.

Boys Lacrosse

The Carlisle boys’ lacrosse team made history by winning the District Title. They are the first boys’ lacrosse team to win the District championship game.

The Herd beat the undefeated Wilson 11-8 at Hershey Park stadium on May 22.

Junior Drew West said, “It’s awesome. We were the first team in Carlisle to win the district title while a part of the PIAA and that is something special. It shows that Carlisle and the Mid-Penn are competitive with teams from all over district III.”

There season ended after their loss in the first round of the State Playoffs on Tuesday May 27 against Radnor.

Girls Lacrosse

The girls’ lacrosse team made their first appearance at the District playoffs.

Junior Rene Morrow, this season’s leading scorer with 76 goals, said, “It shows we’re improving more every year but we still have a long way to go.”

The Lady Herd lost to Exeter Township 22-4 during the first round.

Track and Field

Carlisle boys track team finished 2nd in the States, which was the highest overall team finish for the track team.

Junior Zach Brehm is the state champion in the mile and placed 4th in the 800.

Freshman Deshawn Millington also took home the gold in the Triple Jump and teammate Isa Paschall placed 8th.

Millington said, “It was a great experience for me especially for me as a freshman winning states.”

Returning to the runway next year, Millington hopes to strengthen his techniques and win states again.
