Prom is a struggle for us all, no matter your gender.

Prom is coming soon and with it comes a lot of stress.

Females stress about their style and if everything looks great together. Girls have to focus on how much jewelry is too much, and if the dress looks well with a certain hair style.

Speaking of hair style, when females go to get their hair done before prom, sometimes it does not come out the way we prefer it to.

Junior Julia Kephart said, “Getting ready for a dance, like prom, is very stressful because you have to look amazing so on the morning of the dance it takes from 10:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., right before the dance starts you’re still getting ready, or at least that’s what it feels like.”

But guys stress too! Males have the manners to spend money for the ticket or even dinner which can be very stressful. The guy also has to rent a tux which can empty their wallet pretty fast by itself, and they have to take it back, which in my opinion is like watching your money get thrown away.

Junior William Habig said, “Prom can be a lot of money, with the ticket and the meal, depending on the girl.”

Both dates stress to impress not just their partner, but themselves too. Yet after all the money spent, and the makeovers, it usually turns out to be a great memory.

In the end, all of the pros outweigh the cons, because the pros are specific stories that you get to tell and not many people can relate to, like maybe how he approached the door and called you beautiful, or how she made the first move on the dance floor. Prom may have the bad moments, but the good always make it worth everything.
