Student Council worked hard this year to create an unforgettable playlist for Winterball.

Many complaints that came from Homecoming were because of the music that was played throughout the dance.

To try and stop this from happening again, many students worked together to get opinions from everyone in the school.

The Periscope website ran daily polls for the week before the dance, allowing students to choose songs that they may have liked.  Each day this poll was different and offered a selection of songs to “like” to help Student Council establish a playlist for the dance.

English classes also aided Student Council in discovering Carlisle students favorite songs.  Each person could write down songs they liked and wanted on the Winterball playlist.  Announcements were also made via Herd TV.

“We wanted to work hard to make everyone happy at Winterball, but also play music that administration would approve of,” said secretary of Student Council Marissa Steck.

A lot of people appreciated the efforts made and found it to be a success.

“I loved the music played at Winterball this year. It was so much better than Homecoming, and it makes me more excited for Prom,” said junior Celeste McMullan.

Along with much support from students at Carlisle High School, most chaperones found the music to be enjoyable as well.  Although not all songs were liked, the mix of genres made the dance even better.

“I thought the music was appropriate. I especially liked how they played some classic songs, such as ‘Billie Jean’ by Michael Jackson,” said Civics teacher Megan Keller.
