CHS welcomes Cynthia Lupold to the 11th grade principal position. She is one of four principals working in a new position this year.

Every grade at CHS has been assigned a new principal this school year.

Walt Bond, a former eighth grade history teacher, has moved up to the high school, as the ninth grade principal in the Swartz building. He got to know many of his students during Herd 100, and so far he enjoys “seeing the students transition from middle school to high school.” He replaced the former freshman principal, Paul Wysocki.

Wysocki has moved up to tenth grade and is now considered the building principal. In his fourteen years as principal at CHS, his favorite memory has been “youngsters coming in….that were definitely not going to finish high school. Then you see them at graduation going across the stage.”

Cynthia Lupold, the eleventh grade principal, is new to the district, but already has experience in the position in her previous school district, New Hope Academy Charter School. Her favorite thing about working at CHS is “getting to know the students. Many of them are very talented, respectful, kind individuals.”

Mike Black, once the tenth grade principal, is now the twelfth grade principal in the McGowan building, this position becoming available when former principal, Michelle Barrett, became the head of Career and Technology Center. This year, he hopes to make CHS “a fun, nice place to learn.” Also, he describes seniors as being “a little more mature….more focused” than his sophomore students in previous school years.

Many of the principals weren’t aware that there would be changes until mid-July, just over a month before school started.

No matter what grade or building they are advising, the goal of our principals this year is the same: to help the students have a great, successful year at CHS.
