Meg Lebo

Meg Lebo is a junior at CHS who is in her third year competing for the high school running teams.  She is currently projected to do well in post-season competition.  On October 14, she ran at the Mid-Penn Championship and placed fourth place.  We got a chance to catch up with her and ask her a few questions.

Q1: How long have you been competitively running for?

A1: I have been running 5k’s since I was seven, but I started running competitively for the school in seventh grade.

Q2: What are your leadership roles on the team?

A2: I help lead the team on meet days.  I lead them through our warmup run and help the captain lead stretches.  I also help get everyone back together after the race to go on our cooldown run.

Q3: What is different about this season then the past years?

A3: This year is the first season I have had in four years where I have been healthy and pain free.  So, it has been a great feeling.

Q4: Do you feel it is helpful to be participating all year round through either cross country, indoor track or outdoor track? Why do you feel this way?

A4: Being a tri-sport athlete helps keep me competitive in every season because it doesn’t allow for me to get out of shape.  It also keeps me focused on my athletics and as well as my academics by forcing me to manage my time well.

Q5: What was it like running for fourth place at the Mid Penn Championships?

A5: It was super exciting.  I went into the race wanting to finish in the top five so I was very excited finishing fourth.

Q6: Do you have any specific goals for the District and State meets?

A6: I hope to be in the top five at districts and top 15 at States, which no girl from our team has ever done in our program at the school.
