Intro to Selling and Business Law

Intro to Selling and Business Law is a new elective course at CHS. Periscope staffer Alex Landis sat down with Mr. Conklin to learn more about what the course has to offer.

Scope: What can students expect from this curriculum?

Conklin: “Students can expect to learn the basic business and law concepts such as law for minors and the consumer, the government agencies that regulate business activity, contracts and laws as it relates to automobile and property insurance and much more.”

What are the prerequisites?

“The Business Law course is a semester class which is paid with the Introduction to Sales class. There are no prerequisites for these courses. This course is the prerequisite for the other business classes offered.”

Expected workload?

“This course is a part of the Business Academy which is a Career and Technical program of study. The business classes are built around applying the content through hands-on projects. The workload will vary depending on the topic being discussed.”

What is this course meant to prepare students for?

“This course is designed to prepare students to understand the laws that are tied to businesses and contracts. It is meant to help students understand the “why” business perform or not perform certain activities.”

What period(s) will this class run?

“This will depend on a couple factors but it is expected to be during period 4.”
