COLORFUL BEGINNINGS: New to downtown, Carlisle Creative Vibes offers a variety of unique gifts, like art, jewelry, vintage items, and more.

Carlisle Creative Vibes, or CCV for short, is one of downtown Carlisle’s newest additions.  Located next to the Antique Mall on Hanover Street, CCV opened on Feb 1, 2022 and had its grand opening the weekend of Ice Fest.

Their location at 152 N. Hanover Street has a special meaning to owner Matthew Scott.

“My father actually bought my mother’s engagement ring from this store when it was a jewelry shop,” Scott said. “When I saw that it was available, I was immediately drawn to the location.”

Born and raised in Carlisle, Scott “was inspired by the need for community and creativity” here.

That’s why he opened CCV.

“To provide our community with an accepting, loving, and open environment for all to feel safe and welcomed […],” Scott said. “Our doors are always open as a safe space for anyone and we hope to have a positive impact.”

CCV is a “creator collective […] made up of over 30 local artists who came together with the same vision to bring art, acceptance, and creativity to Carlisle. Each artist brings their own vibe which is what makes us special,” Scott said.

Over 80% of the items for sale at CCV are either handmade or upcycled.  You can find almost anything there, from photography to clothing, to spiritual items like crystals.

In addition to shopping, you can also attend events hosted by CCV.  They conduct classes, guide guests in spiritual activities, have live music, and will soon have drag shows.  Recently, they hosted a Ukrainian Pysanky egg decorating class in support of Ukraine where they raised over $600 for World Central Kitchen.

During the week of June 11-19, Carlisle will have its second-ever Pride Week. On Sunday, June 19, as a finale to the week, CCV will have a drag show in their courtyard featuring Ariel Versace from Rupaul’s Drag Race, among other performers.  CCV is raising money for Carlisle Pride, and you can find flags and other pride merchandise to support them at their store.

Check out CCV  Tuesday-Saturday from 11 AM-6 PM.
