Junior Joe Mastrangelo has been described as a leader among his teammates and plays both football and basketball for CHS.  Check out our second installment of Athlete of the Month with a Q&A with Joe Mastrangelo!

Q1: How long have you been playing basketball?

A1: Since 2nd grade.

Q2: How do you display leadership on and off the court?

A2: I’ve been described as very outgoing and it’s really important to me to look out for my teammates.  They’re my brothers, and they mean a lot to me.  Looking out for and helping them is a priority for me.

Q3: What position do you play?

A3: In football, I play wide receiver.  In basketball, I play forward.  This is only my second year playing but I really enjoy it.

Q4: What inspires you to stay motivated and put forth hard work for the team?

A4: The future.  Motivation to play in college really fuels me.  Motivation to get into the playoffs also pushes me.  But I think getting into college and playing there really motivates me the most.

Q5: It sounds like you definitely have hopes for the future; at this time do you have any goals for the future?

A5: I really want to play football in college.  I enjoy basketball but I think football in college is more realistic.

Q6: Remembering you time here at CHS, what memories will you take with you into the future?

A6: Being on TV playing against Harrisburg for basketball: it was a lot of fun and it was great to see all of our hard work pay off by being highlighted on TV.  Seeing everyone play on TV made the whole experience last and it really meant a lot.
